Crypto Colo Center Corp (CCC), on behalf of property owner Dei Vitae Enterprises, filed a conditional-use permit application to build a 32.4MW natural-gas-powered colocation/crypto-mining facility (plus an internet exchange point) roughly 0.3 miles outside McLouth (pop. ~858), Jefferson County, about 45 minutes west of Kansas City. Roughly 140 residents (~1/6 of the town) turned out to oppose the project over noise, environmental, and safety concerns. CCC withdrew the permit application Feb 27, 2023, and Jefferson County commissioners subsequently approved a 12-month countywide moratorium on data-center development. Never built; recorded as cancelled, capacity omitted.
