(CEO Kevin Mohan, also affiliated with Big Star Blockchain, a bitcoin-data-center services firm) bought 15 acres at 369 Union Road for $300,000 in August 2025; incorporated the project entity 'Sovereign Gazelle' in April 2026. Plan: a 50MW bitcoin mining data center occupying 10 of the 15 acres. Build depends on easements from four neighboring landowners for 75-ft utility poles carrying the 50MW line, all four have refused as of June 2026. Morgan County Commission passed a 12-month moratorium on bitcoin-mining data centers on 2026-06-23 after resident petitions (450+ signatures) citing noise/air-quality/property-value concerns. VoltCore is the EPC/engineering contractor for the power buildout, not the site owner/operator, do not attribute operatorship to VoltCore. County officials describe the project as 'still pursuing' but stalled pending right-of-way. STATUS RE-CHECK, NO CHANGE - proposed remains correct. Morgan County adopted a unanimous 12-month data-center moratorium in June 2026, but the area is unzoned and the county has since said it cannot stop this site; the project's only forward movement found is negotiating utility easements. No building permit, construction start or cancellation was found, so the record should not move in either direction.
