Manchester City Council approved the site plan for a crypto-mining facility in Manchester's industrial park. City manager Tim Vick, speaking to Radio Iowa, described 50 modular 8-by-20-foot units on concrete pads, each with two cooling units; he said the site would draw power from a separate grid from the rest of the community, that the servers would not be water-cooled, and that water use would be limited to the office bathroom. Vick put the project at eight full-time jobs. The Telegraph Herald's visible lead calls it the company's largest investment yet; as of October 2026 the body of that article is subscriber-only, so nothing else here rests on it. Construction was reported (as of Jan 2025) scheduled to start 'later this spring' [2025], that's the last independently-confirmed checkpoint that could be sourced; as of Aug 2026 (~19 months later) no later report of construction or opening was found, so the record is left at the last-verified permitted (site-plan-approved) stage.
