BNI Montana LLC acquired two land-lease/power-purchase agreements in Richland County in Feb 2023 (served by Lower Yellowstone Rural Electric Cooperative); broke ground Aug 2023; one site fully built to 10MW and mining bitcoin since early-to-mid 2024 (miners relocated in from the company's Michigan facility). In Sept 2025 the company announced intent to sell/divest the Montana properties to focus on its Michigan AI campus, but a June 2026 press release (utility 'will serve' for ~125 additional MW at one Montana site) frames Montana as part of the company's 'long-term strategy' with no mention of the prior sale plan -- treat the divestiture announcement as apparently superseded/reversed, current operator confirmed as of June 2026. A second Montana site (~15 miles from the first, ~10MW potential) is leased but not yet built out -- see 'held'.
