One of several small well-pad bitcoin-mining sites NYDIG DFM, LLC operates in the Bakken oil field portion of Richland County, MT, continuing the flared/stranded 'Digital Flare Mitigation' gas-to-bitcoin model NYDIG acquired from Crusoe Energy's bitcoin-mining business in 2025 (Crusoe itself sourced this gas from well pads in the area since ~2021). The Kraken Central Site's Aug/Oct 2025 DEQ air-quality permit (MAQP #5262-05) covers eight 2,500-brake-horsepower engines burning well-pad field gas to power a modular data center; capacity is expressed in engine horsepower, not MW, in the source and is not converted here. Sibling NYDIG DFM permits for nearby pads in the same county (Kennedy Pad MAQP #5301-01, Nate Facility MAQP #5314-01, and others: 5268-02/03, 5313-02, 5328-01) indicate this is a multi-site cluster, not a single facility -- only the best-documented site (Kraken Central) is logged here.
