Opposition and litigation at this site

Nothing on record as of October 24, 2026. No lawsuit, organized opposition, or contested hearing over Gawk Enerpower Amory Bitcoin Mining Facility in Amory, Monroe County, Mississippi appears in the sources this registry tracks. That is an absence in our sources rather than a finding that none exists, and local opposition often predates any coverage a national dataset would pick up.

If you live near this site and something is happening that this page does not show, that is worth telling us. Send us the document and it goes in the record with the source attached. For sites where opposition is already established, see every contested site we track.

A new status, a permit, a reception finding, or a lawsuit. Nothing else, ever.

Power and water

Utilities manager described 15 MW of load; the operator will throttle down to 1 MW during six hours of daily peak usage.

Small 2-inch municipal water tap; most water is recirculated. Not drawn from the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway.

Notes on the record

Odessa, Texas-based Gawk Enerpower Ltd is building a small, containerized Bitcoin-mining operation ('a few shipping containers on the site filled with equipment') on a 5-acre lot along Waterway Drive next to the Jimmy Bost Training Center in Amory. Amory Utilities Manager Mike King said the load is intended to help 'offset the load on utilities' and should not meaningfully affect customer service; local coverage explicitly distinguishes it from 'a large data center.' As of the most recent reporting found (2026-05-30), the city targeted an August 2026 completion; as of September 2026 no source found confirms the facility has actually gone live, so the record is listed as under construction rather than assumed operational. Mike King told the Monroe Journal / Daily Journal (May 2026) that the site has '15 megawatts of load' and is to throttle down to 1 megawatt during the six hours of peak usage a day; that paper reported estimates of two to three employees. No investment figure was disclosed in the coverage available as of September 2026.
