On July 30, 2026 Governor Tina Kotek directed the Department of Administrative Services to terminate the state's contract to sell approximately 32 acres at the Mill Creek Corporate Center for the project, saying 'Growth has to make sense for the community, for our infrastructure, and for our natural resources.' Verrus, through subsidiary Alderstone LLC, submitted a land use application to the City of Salem on July 31, 2026. Projected tax revenue cited: about $9 million annually to Salem's general fund and about $1.5 million to the Community Livability Levy.
