Nothing on record as of October 2, 2026. A new status, a permit, a reception finding, or a lawsuit. Nothing else, ever.

Notes on the record

UH is renovating the Cancer Center's existing garage-sized, air-conditioned, ground-floor data center room in Kakaʻako into the Medical AI Core (MedAI Core), which will provide high-performance computing for the new Pacific Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in Medicine (PAC-AID). PAC-AID is funded by a $12M, five-year NIH COBRE grant, awarded 2026-06-04 and running through February 2031. About $300,000 of that money is going to renovate and equip the room. The Star-Advertiser (via GovTech) calls it a first-of-its-kind AI data center for Hawaiʻi. This is a single room in an existing building, not a campus. No MW, GPU count or cooling method was published. the investment figure covers only the ~$300K room renovation, not the $12M research grant. Coordinates are the OSM feature for the UH Cancer Center building at 701 Ilalo St, the address the Cancer Center publishes.

In every fight on our tracker the decisive fact came out of a public records request. These are the requests for this site.

Distances are between recorded coordinates, many of which are a city or county centroid, so treat them as approximate. Cumulative load on one utility and one aquifer is the question a planning commission rarely asks.
