Proposed co-generation crypto-mine + greenhouse project at the closed J.R. Simplot potato-processing plant in Aberdeen (Bingham County). GeoBitmine planned to pipe mining-rig waste heat into industrial greenhouses (with a University of Idaho seed-research tie-in) and estimated a 6 MW load. Project stalled when Idaho Power created a crypto-specific "Schedule 20" tariff (approved June 15, 2022) that GeoBitmine calls discriminatory, it allows up to 225 hours/year of interruptible service and marginal energy-based pricing, which GeoBitmine says makes financing impossible; GeoBitmine filed for PUC reconsideration July 6, 2022. This wave's directly-read sourcing tops out at 2022; secondary (unread) search results suggest the Schedule 20 dispute was still before the Idaho PUC as late as January 2026, but that later date was not independently verified against a primary document this session, treat status as long-pending/unresolved rather than confirmed-dead or confirmed-built.
