The county accepted its comprehensive plan amendment, rezoning and special exception applications for processing on August 20, 2024, after an earlier approval from 2019 was withdrawn. Convergent withdrew the rezoning on August 27, 2026 and plans residential development instead, so the record is listed as cancelled. The investment figure is a floor: Convergent VA said the construction cost is expected to exceed $1 billion, as reported by Baxtel.
