Opposition and litigation at this site
Nothing on record as of September 22, 2026. No lawsuit, organized opposition, or contested hearing over Artemis Power Tech Wolfe County Data Center in Wolfe County, Kentucky appears in the sources this registry tracks. That is an absence in our sources rather than a finding that none exists, and local opposition often predates any coverage a national dataset would pick up.
If you live near this site and something is happening that this page does not show, that is worth telling us. Send us the document and it goes in the record with the source attached. For sites where opposition is already established, see every contested site we track.

EKPC supplied 10 MW with capacity to increase to 13 MW; Artemis Power Tech paid $235,000 to upgrade the adjacent EKPC substation.
Notes on the record
Houston-based Artemis Power Tech bought the land from Hay Crypto Mining for $325,000 in February 2023, had electrical lines installed in March 2023, and went active in August 2023 in an unincorporated part of Wolfe County next to an East Kentucky Power Cooperative substation along Kentucky Route 1036, near the Wolfe-Lee county line and about six miles from Natural Bridge State Resort Park. Residents reported constant 50-60 dB fan noise for nearly three years. The schema has no 'decommissioned' status; 'cancelled' is used as the closest fit for a shut-down facility, per the tracker's existing convention. capacityMw is deliberately unset because nothing is producing - the 10 MW supplied / 13 MW available figures are recorded in energy.notes instead. COORDINATES ARE WEAK AND SHOULD BE REVIEWED: no parcel or address is published, and OpenStreetMap maps KY 1036 only on the Lee County side of the line, so the point used here is an approximate anchor on that road near the county line, not a confirmed Wolfe County footprint. The shutdown month (July 2026) is not printed on the LEX 18 page fetched, which says only 'last week'; it is corroborated by the same outlet's related coverage but should be treated as approximate.
What the record does not establish, and the document that would
In every fight on our tracker the decisive fact came out of a public records request. These are the requests for this site.
- Power capacity in megawatts
- Cooling method and water use
- Tax abatements or other public subsidy
- Permanent jobs promised
- Land area
- How the community has received it
Which document closes each gap
- Power capacity in megawatts
- The utility's large load service agreement, the interconnection request in the grid operator's queue, or the electrical site plan in the permit file.
- Cooling method and water use
- The water service agreement, any groundwater appropriation permit, and the mechanical narrative in the site plan.
- Tax abatements or other public subsidy
- The abatement, PILOT, or development agreement approved by the county, city, or development authority, and the state's data center sales tax exemption certificate if one was issued.
- Permanent jobs promised
- The economic development application or incentive agreement, which usually states a job commitment and a clawback.
- Land area
- The rezoning application, the plat, or the deed recorded with the county.
- How the community has received it
- Planning commission and governing body minutes, public comment records, and any petition or lawsuit filed in the county.
