This is the PARENT Microsoft Boydton campus, one of Microsoft's oldest and largest US data center campuses, described by datacenters.com as hosting the Azure US East 2 availability region, first announced 2010 (~$499M initial investment) and expanded repeatedly through 2011/2013/2014/2015/2019 (cumulative >$2B investment). Distinct from the Microsoft Skipwith Road Campus (LYH03), already tracked as of July 2026 (a separate 2022 six-building permit). Addresses cited across sources include 101 Herbert Drive and 925 Ridge Rd, Boydton VA, as of October 2026, no source found says whether these are one site or two. Acreage also differs: Baxtel gives a 175-acre site with a 40-acre graded pad, while datacenters.com describes a campus of over 14 buildings across 360 acres. Microsoft's Southern Virginia datacenter fact sheet states that Microsoft uses adiabatic cooling at its Southern Virginia datacenters, with outside air used instead of water below 25 degrees Celsius; as of October 2026 the sheet does not say which cooling method applies to this campus specifically.
