Crusoe Energy Systems (Denver) runs Digital Flare Mitigation (DFM) modular bitcoin-mining units at D90 Energy's Oxbow well pad (53 wells at 36 locations) southwest of Walden, Jackson County, CO, a North Park Basin field acquired by Fulcrum Energy Capital Funds in early 2021, previously described as the largest single flaring source in the state before Crusoe cut flaring ~75%. Colorado Sun (Aug 2022) documented 6 Crusoe units operating with room for expansion; Earthworks infrared surveys (Jun/Jul 2022) still found active flaring at the pad alongside the Crusoe units, prompting complaints to COGCC and CDPHE Air Pollution Control Division, treat community/regulatory posture as contested, not settled. IMPORTANT OPERATOR CAVEAT: on 2025-03-25 NYDIG announced a definitive agreement to acquire Crusoe's entire bitcoin-mining/DFM business (425 modular units, 250+ MW, across CO/ND/MT/WY/NM/UT/TX plus Argentina); per Crusoe's own newsroom page (retrieved 2026-08-05) the deal is still 'subject to regulator approvals, customary consents and final closing', no confirmed close date found.
